Family bike rides
The best area for bicycle rides with children is along the beautiful Mjøsa, outside Hamar town centre, where you have wide choice of excellent picnic, swimming and fishing spots. Or why not try the mountain farm area at Sjusjøen, where you can spend the night in a tree-top cabin eight metres above ground?
In the gentle, rolling terrain along Mjøsa, it is not the climbs that will take your breath away - it is the scenery! Take in the spectacular views, stay the night at a manor farm, savour a tasty meal at a farm café and enjoy a host of cultural experiences along the way.
Sjusjøen can offer a vast network of mountain roads and farm tracks with well marked and signposted routes for every skill level.
Mjøstråkk is a 250km bicycle ride around Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake. Running past the Mjøsa towns of Hamar, Lillehammer, Gjøvik, Moelv and Brumunddal, this tarmac and gravel route will lead you through a cultural landscape as well as forest terrain.
